High Quality Ethanol
USA Distillers produces neutral potable and industrial spirit for the export market, based on sugar cane molasses. Our 4th general expansion project is currently in progress, bringing new fermentation and distillation capacity on stream. New steam raising capacity has been installed and commissioned, a co-generation facility, which will make the operation self-sufficient in its power requirements is currently under-way.
Our Potable Alcohol is a high quality and purity alcohol used in the production of beverages and spirits that is obtained after an additional process of refining and purification. While similar to the production of an ethanol plant, potable alcohol requires additional processes and implementation.
Fuel
The world is expected to consume 55 percent more energy by 2030 than it did in 2005. But with petroleum reserves declining and emissions from traditional fossil fuels increasing, there is a growing need to draw upon cleaner, renewable, sustainable energy sources to meet rising global demand. Today, biofuels such as ethanol and biodiesel are the only alternative transportation fuels available to consumers.
USA Distillers delivers clean-burning ethanol to refiners through an expansive network of trucks, railcars, barges and terminals. Our customers – primarily large energy companies – blend these products in various concentrations to increase the fuel's octane rating and help reduce harmful emissions. Today, USA Distillers makes ethanol from molasses through an efficient process. In addition, we are working both independently and in partnership with other leading companies and research institutions to develop next-generation biofuels made from cellulosic sources.
